October was glorious this year — warm and sunny and golden. This was Thanksgiving at Milford House:
The good weather continued into late October and November. This view of the window box outside the back door was taken on November 5th! We don’t normally have flowers still in bloom in November. Dandelions were even sprouting on the lawn still following the mildest Halloween I can remember.
But we got our first snowstorm on November 8. A very light dusting, but exciting all the same — and it has put us in a festive frame of mind. This is early for first snow in Mahone Bay. Farmer’s Almanac says we are in for a “polar coaster” of snow storms and frigid temperatures this winter but their track record is no better than guesswork, so I’m just going to wait and see.
