It smells so wonderful today – of warm sunshine and dry grass and earth. And the birds are chirping en masse. The temperature today is above 20 and friends in town heard peepers last night. Expecting to hear some from our deck tonight – April 15.
The crocuses are in flower, and the deer have already eaten half of them. Pesky deer. The daffodils are almost open. The chives are 10 cm tall, the lilies are sprouting and the first pink rhubarb stems ate pushing up. We have even planted our seeds in readiness for a bountiful summer! Amazing that we still had snow and ice over much of the garden two weeks ago. It has been a long, long, cold, snowy winter and I am not it is quite over yet (forecast is for freezing rain tomorrow!). But we are all full of the joys of spring today.
Evie made this collection yesterday.
